Terms of service

Last updated: October 3, 2026

1. Who we are

Rowel Co. is a trade name of Cinder & Crown Creative LLC ("Rowel Co.", "we", "us" or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of rowelco.com and any related pages, emails, messages and services we offer (together, the "Site"), and every purchase you make from us.

By using the Site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy and Refund Policy, which are part of these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

2. How Rowel Co. works: independent makers

Rowel Co. is a curated shop. We choose goods from independent makers and brands, describe them, set the price and sell them to you. We do not manufacture these goods and we do not hold inventory. When you order, we pass your order to the maker or brand, and they pack and ship it directly to you.

  • Your contract of sale is with Rowel Co. We take your payment, handle your questions and process returns and refunds under our Refund Policy.
  • The maker makes and ships the item. Items from different makers arrive in separate packages, on each maker's own schedule.
  • Product information comes from the makers. Specifications, materials, sizing, care notes and product photos are provided by the makers. We describe products in our own words and work to keep listings accurate, but we rely on the information makers give us.
  • Brand names belong to their owners. Product, brand and company names shown on the Site are trademarks of their respective owners. Their appearance does not mean those owners endorse Rowel Co.
  • Rowel Co. house line. From time to time we may sell goods under our own Rowel Co. label. Those product pages will say so, and any warranty for them will be stated on the product page.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to place an order. If you create an account, keep your login details private; you are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us right away if you think your account has been used without permission.

4. Products, descriptions and colors

We try to show every product accurately. Colors and textures vary by screen, and natural materials such as leather, wool, felt, straw, horn, wood and Damascus steel vary from piece to piece. Small differences in color, grain, pattern or finish are part of the material, not defects.

Some descriptions, journal articles and images on the Site are written or edited with the help of software tools, including AI tools, and are reviewed by us before they are published. If a description conflicts with the maker's own specifications, the maker's specifications control.

5. Age-restricted and regulated products

  • Knives and blades are sold only to buyers 18 or older. By ordering one, you confirm you are 18 or older and that you may lawfully buy, receive and carry it where you live. Knife laws vary by state, county and city. You are responsible for knowing and following them.
  • We may refuse or cancel any order we believe cannot lawfully be shipped to the delivery address, or that a maker or carrier will not ship.
  • Bar and drinkware is sold empty. We do not sell alcohol.

6. Prices, payment and taxes

  • Prices are in U.S. dollars. Shipping and handling charges (including a flat $13.00 handling fee per order, described in our Shipping Policy) and sales tax are calculated and shown at checkout before you pay.
  • We may change prices at any time. A price change does not affect an order we have already accepted.
  • If a product is listed at an incorrect price or with incorrect information because of an error, we may cancel the order and refund you in full, even after it was placed. We will tell you if we do.
  • Payments are handled by third-party payment processors. We do not store your full card number.
  • Discount codes have the terms stated with the code, cannot be combined unless stated, have no cash value and may end at any time.

7. Orders and acceptance

Your order is an offer to buy. We accept it when the maker confirms it and we send a shipping confirmation. We may decline or cancel any order, in whole or in part, including for suspected fraud, resale, a pricing error, a maker being unable to fill it, or a shipping restriction. If we cancel after you have paid, we refund the amount charged for the cancelled items.

To cancel an order, email us as soon as possible. If the maker has not shipped it yet, we will cancel it. If it has shipped, our Refund Policy applies.

8. Shipping, title and risk of loss

Shipping is described in our Shipping Policy. Delivery estimates are estimates, not guarantees. Title and risk of loss pass to you when the carrier delivers the item to your shipping address. If a package is lost or arrives damaged, tell us within the time stated in the Shipping Policy and we will help resolve it with the maker and carrier.

We currently ship to addresses in the United States only.

9. Returns and refunds

Returns are covered by our Refund Policy (14 days from delivery). Please contact us before you send anything back: every return goes to the maker, not to our address.

10. Gift cards

Rowel Co. gift cards can be used only on rowelco.com, are not redeemable for cash except where the law requires, and do not expire. Treat a gift card like cash: we are not responsible for lost or stolen gift cards or codes.

11. Warranties

Many makers offer their own warranty or guarantee. Where they do, it passes through to you, and we will help you make a claim. Rights you have under consumer-protection laws that cannot be waived are not affected by these Terms.

EXCEPT AS STATED IN THESE TERMS OR REQUIRED BY LAW, THE SITE AND ALL PRODUCTS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ROWEL CO. DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. Some states do not allow these disclaimers, so they may not apply to you.

12. Safe use

Use every product as intended and follow the maker's instructions and warnings. Knives are sharp; keep them away from children. Saddle blankets, tack and ranch goods should be fitted and used by people who know horses and livestock. Check the maker's care notes before cleaning or conditioning leather, felt, straw or metal.

13. California Proposition 65

Some products sold on the Site may contain chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. Where a maker supplies a Proposition 65 warning for a product, we show it on the product page or it is included with the product. For more information, visit www.p65warnings.ca.gov.

14. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Site for anything unlawful, fraudulent or harmful;
  • buy products for commercial resale without our written consent;
  • interfere with the Site's security or operation, or upload viruses or harmful code;
  • copy, scrape, harvest or mine the Site's content or data in bulk, or use it to train machine-learning models, except as allowed in Section 15;
  • impersonate anyone, give false information, or use someone else's payment method without permission;
  • post or send content that is unlawful, abusive, defamatory, obscene or infringes anyone's rights.

15. Shopping agents and automated tools

You may use a shopping assistant, browser agent or other AI tool (an "Agent") to browse the Site or buy on your behalf, as long as:

  • you authorized the Agent to act for you, and you are responsible for and bound by everything it does, including every order it places;
  • the Agent does not bypass security, rate limits, checkout steps, age confirmations or bot-detection, and does not place a high volume of requests or orders;
  • the Agent does not resell, re-host or republish our content or prices, except to show you the products you are considering.

Search engines and AI services may index public pages of the Site to help people find our products. We may block or limit any automated access that we believe harms the Site, other shoppers or the makers.

16. Your content and reviews

If you send us reviews, photos, comments or ideas, you confirm the content is yours and lawful, and you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, edit and display it in connection with Rowel Co. We may remove any content at our discretion. We do not pay for, edit the meaning of, or invent reviews.

17. Intellectual property

The Site and its content, including text, catalog copy, journal articles, graphics, layouts, logos and the Rowel Co. name and marks, are owned by Cinder & Crown Creative LLC or its licensors (including the makers and photographers who license their images) and are protected by copyright and trademark laws. © Rowel Co. All rights reserved. You may view and print pages for personal, non-commercial use only.

Copyright complaints. If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright, email cinderandcrown@gmail.com with: your contact details; a description of the work; the URL of the material; a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner; and your physical or electronic signature.

18. Third-party services and links

The Site uses third-party services (for example payment processing, accelerated checkout wallets, shipping carriers and social-media features) and may link to other websites. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party sites or services.

19. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW: (a) ROWEL CO., CINDER & CROWN CREATIVE LLC AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES AND CONTRACTORS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM THE SITE OR ANY PRODUCT; AND (b) OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SITE OR A PRODUCT WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE PRODUCT THAT GAVE RISE TO THE CLAIM.

Some states do not allow these limits. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

20. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Rowel Co., Cinder & Crown Creative LLC and its owners, employees and contractors from claims, losses and costs (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of a product, or your violation of any law or anyone's rights.

21. Disputes and governing law

If you have a problem, please email us first. Most issues are solved quickly that way. If we cannot resolve it within 30 days, either of us may bring a claim.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any claim must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Dallas County, Texas, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction, except that either of us may bring an individual claim in small-claims court where it qualifies. This section does not take away any right you have under the laws of the state where you live that cannot be waived.

22. Changes, severability and the whole agreement

We may update these Terms by posting a new version with a new "Last updated" date. Changes do not apply to orders placed before they were posted. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver. These Terms and the policies they refer to are the entire agreement between you and us about the Site.
