The Brazos runs slow and green in August, and the cottonwoods along it are the only shade for a mile. Horses know where the crossing is. So do the old men.
The Riverland is New Zealand wool in taupe, teal, ocean blue, show turquoise, plume and cream, 36 by 34 inches. River colors, laid down under a saddle and carried all day.
